Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the website and services of The Dance Lab, LLC ("we," "us," "our"), including our training programs and intensives (collectively, the "Services"). By creating an account, enrolling, subscribing, or otherwise using the Services, you agree to these Terms.

1. Eligibility and accounts

Accounts are created and held by adults age 18+. A parent or legal guardian must create and manage any account for a minor dancer and is responsible for all activity under that account. You agree to provide accurate information and keep your login credentials secure.

2. Programs and enrollment

Cohort program. Enrollment is audition-based and capacity-limited. By enrolling, you agree to the program's tuition, schedule, and participation expectations as described at enrollment and in any handbook we provide.

Intensives. These are offered as one-time paid sessions, subject to availability and any age/level requirements stated at signup.

3. Fees, billing, and subscriptions

  • Cohort tuition is billed through Stripe as a recurring subscription. At enrollment you choose one of two billing schedules for the same annual program:
    • 10-month schedule: $395/month, August through May; or
    • 12-month schedule: $329/month, billed evenly across all twelve months. Both schedules cover the same program term and the same total annual tuition. Enrolling authorizes recurring charges on your chosen schedule until the program term ends or your enrollment is terminated as provided here.
  • Registration fee: A one-time, non-refundable registration fee of $100 is due at enrollment, separate from monthly tuition.
  • Intensives are one-time charges at the stated price.
  • All fees are in US dollars and charged through Stripe. You authorize us and Stripe to charge your payment method for amounts due.

4. Cancellations and refunds

  • Cohort tuition: Enrollment is a commitment for the full program term. Withdrawal before the end of the term is permitted only if the dancer (a) relocates out of the area, or (b) sustains an injury that prevents participation in dance. In an approved withdrawal, billing stops at the end of the then-current billing month and no further tuition is charged; tuition already paid is not refunded, and the $100 registration fee is non-refundable in all cases.
  • Intensives: Refundable if canceled at least 3 days (72 hours) in advance of the session; no refunds for cancellations within 3 days. Intensive registrations are non-transferable (they may not be transferred to another dancer or to a different session).

5. Content, license, and intellectual property

All training videos, materials, branding, and site content are owned by or licensed to The Dance Lab and are protected by law. During an active subscription or enrollment, we grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to access content for your own (or your dancer's) training. You may not download (except where expressly enabled), copy, share, redistribute, publicly perform, or record our videos or materials, or share account access.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the Services, including: sharing login credentials; attempting to bypass content protections; scraping or copying content; uploading unlawful or infringing material; or interfering with the Services' operation or security.

7. Media release

From time to time we may capture photos or video in class or at events. These may be used for marketing purposes, in online and social media, and/or in printed collateral. You can opt out by emailing admin@thedancelab.studio and making the request in writing.

8. Health, participation, and assumption of risk

Dance involves physical activity and risk of injury. You represent that the dancer is in suitable health to participate and agree to follow safety instructions.

9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The Services are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent permitted by law. To the maximum extent permitted by law, The Dance Lab will not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the Services in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless The Dance Lab from claims arising out of your or your dancer's use of the Services or violation of these Terms, to the extent permitted by law.

11. Changes to the Services and Terms

We may modify the Services or these Terms. Material changes will be posted with a new "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, communicated to account holders. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access for violation of these Terms or non-payment. You may stop using the Services and cancel subscriptions as described above.

13. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Alabama, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.
